Organization

We are attempting here to build a cooperative society of individuals, interest groups, institutions, organizations dedicated to cross cultural understanding and dissemination of audio culture. This is an experiment, where we document our process and have peer review. We have here what we hope is the kernel of an organization that will grow organically all over Scandinavia – and the rest of the world.

We are home growing what we hope will evolve into a strong living organism, in the hope that others will appreciate the beauty of this plant and contribute to its nourishment. We are now a nonprofit, public service cultural and educational cooperative, where people join and find their place according to their needs and capacities. We are working and developing especially with the blind or sight impaired. Members of this coop have influence on how this project evolves and review one another’s work. We collaborate mostly online and have a content management system to keep track of who is doing what and when.

We are now very small. Eventually we will develop into a more formal organization with bylaws, elected governing body and state recognition as a museum of national audio culture, with a paid staff, audio coaches and recording equipment for outreach in local communities.  Now we work mostly pro bono, getting our expenses paid if we can.

This is a many faceted, cross sectored and cross disciplinary project which is difficult to sell in an “elevator pitch”. It´s listening edutainment, entertainment + learning by doing. We are not business people – and have not the savvy required for fundraising, which has become a highly specialized full time job. What we need now is Proof Of Concept, a prototype – this site, which we consider as a morphable project description. We don´t have time to wait for the final version. We are putting our kernel on the net and hoping it will get us the help we need
